Professional Development Program
At BG&E we pride ourselves on our technical excellence and the ability to provide our staff with a rewarding working life and career.
Recognising our strength lies within the capability of our staff, BG&E encourages the active pursuit of personal professional development.

We offer a range of professional development initiatives including in-house technical sessions, knowledge sharing and an investment in staff professional development through external courses.
In addition, our Partnership Agreement with Engineers Australia facilitates ongoing support for our engineers to achieve Chartered Professional Engineer Status.

Graduate Development Program
The BG&E Graduate Development Program assists graduate engineers in acquiring the competencies and professional development required for their transition to experienced consulting engineers.

On the Job Training
On the job training comprises a major component of BG&E's professional development and provides the experience necessary to achieve Chartered Status with Engineers Australia.
Graduates immediately begin work on active projects under the supervision of senior staff and will learn the application of Australian & International codes and standards in conjunction with the use of appropriate modelling & design software.

Site Visits
We encourage graduate engineers to regularly take part in site visits.
Site visits provide practical learning experience for design engineers and are critical in professional development.

Engineering Discipline Rotation
The flexible and open nature of our office culture allows graduates to rotate into different discipline groups (buildings, bridges, waterways, civil, specialist structures and assorted infrastructure) when opportunities present themselves.

Knowledge Transfer and Team Approach
We frequently hold internal training seminars to facilitate transfer of technical knowledge.
Our aim is to provide an open learning environment where graduates are encouraged to ask questions and contribute to their ideas with their design team.

External Presentations & Courses
We provide opportunities for graduates to attend external presentations and training courses run by organisations including Engineers Australia, the Concrete Institute of Australia and the Australian Steel Institute.
Graduates are also encouraged to attend networking events that focus on the development of 'soft' skills, such as networking, communication and leadership skills.
